female advocate holding a white placard

After 23 years in the U.S. Air Force, I have seen the toll that service takes on the mind and spirit. The transition from military to civilian life is one of the most challenging experiences a veteran can face, and mental health support is often the missing piece.

Too many veterans suffer in silence because asking for help is still seen as weakness. In the military, we are trained to push through pain. But that training does not prepare us for the invisible wounds that follow us home.

This is why I write. This is why I advocate. Every veteran deserves access to mental health care that understands their experience and treats them with dignity.
